Create a Spline Chart (Condensed Version)

Notes:

Managed to create a Preliminary Spline Chart for the FI Dashboard. I’ve had many versions of this Spline Chart as AI hallucinates often on the axis markers. The datasets are not provided as the focus was to build a baseline chart. It surprisingly looks better than expected, but needs more work on the finishing touches on the markers. Not sure if it’s my prompting, or it’s AI hallucinations on how they render the charts.

The main issue that I’ve encountered was the starting point of the y-axis and x-axis on its labels. A temporary solution is to suppress the initial 0 amounts, whether it’s an Amount as 0K, or Age as 0. It’s weird if you start at Age 0, but without an initial marker, AI hallucinates on its starting point. Therefore, I suppressed Age 2-24. As for the Amount, AI hallucinates again on using different labels when converting amounts. It specifies the y-axis markers, but AI renders a different output, sometimes duplicating the initial markers. There are instances where I see 500K, 500K, 1M. A few times I saw 500 M, 500 M, 1M. Even though AI explicitly states that the rendering issue is fixed, it’s clearly not shown correctly on the output.

As for the color, I like blue and green. However, I believe blue color is more common on these Spline charts, so figured green is a good color to test. Can prompt AI to use another base color and AI just updates it using the color grading hex codes. I believe this is a good base template for this type of Spline chart. Once I update our financials, hopefully AI can update the chart and fix its labeling when rendering the images.

Another note on the Age output is that although I prompted intervals at 2, the output doesn’t show 2 throughout. Age 30, 44, 52 is not intervals of 2. I’ve then prompted AI to make the image bigger. Still didn’t fix this visualization issue. I have an idea on how to prompt this when I input the actuals and then calculating the forecasts, but will get tricky once I factor in compounding. A technical fix can be I set the Age range smaller from 30 years to let’s say just 10 years, then set interval as 1. I can also move the legend from right side panel to below the chart so that the chart can be set wider and utilize the lower panel.
