Essential Creativity

Essential Creativity is what I would like to focus on in 2023.

A few things I’ve accomplished:

  • Lost about 35 lbs in 6 months. Changed my diet plan by focusing on substitutes. Monitored closely on my carbs and sugar intake daily. Did 30 min cardio 3x per week. Walked about 3 miles daily (rain or shine).

  • Completed the website layout and content in 10 days. I had 14 days trial, so wanted to make sure I completed the site within my trial period. Did plenty of research on other website design platforms, and this site is the easiest to create the layout as well as its functionality. Godaddy isn’t hard, but not as straightforward either. Took me about a month to get a full grasp. Winx reviews are mixed, so I skipped testing the platform.

  • Switched out our portfolios from focusing on growth to income and income ETFs. Took about 3 months to research, but about 6 months to reallocate our positions as we some of the growth funds were priced lower than our limit orders. Instead we purchased the Income ETFs first, and then slowly sold off our growth funds. Last few months, some of our Income ETFs were trading within the 52WH, so we sold some and locked in our gains.

  • We became Australian Citizens. Not much creativity there, but it’s a milestone for sure as our visa status is no longer controlled by my wife’s employer.

Ideas for this year:

  • Further automating our investments by summarizing all of our separate portfolios into one consolidation report.

  • Integrate our analysis of Income ETFs price trends, DCA Buys and Sells, and TPP/TSP estimates into a summary report.

  • Automate our financial plan to achieve our FI goals by utilizing Income and Income ETFs Dividends and DY% streamlining from our Excel templates.

  • Reduce our 32-page PDF investment document to under 10 summary reports, and 10 trading details reports (for tax recording purposes).

  • Find alternative investment subscriptions. No longer renew Intelligent Investor, InvestSMART, and Eureka Report subscriptions since their articles are no longer relevant to our investment style.

  • Continue to research on low cost trading platforms with 4*+ reviews, excellent customer service, and no issues withdrawing funds.

  • Research on investment reporting tool without linking to brokerage accounts to create our own reporting tool.
